Swept

(Mixed media)

There was an old woman went up in a basket,
Ninety-nine times as high as the moon;
What she did there I could not but ask it,
For in her hand she carried a broom.

"Old woman, old woman, old woman," quoth I,
"O whither, O whither, O whither so high?"
"To sweep the cobwebs off the sky -
And I shall be back again by and by!"

A contribution to Illustration Friday - Swept.

Safari

(Fibretip)

This an old image (1984) which I'm submitting to Illustration Friday for their challenge - Safari.

Earlier in the week I spent several hours making a multi-layered coloured version in Photoshop. The file proved to be too big for Illustration Friday and I gradually reduced the size. Inevitably along the way the large file got lost and now there's no way of returning it to it's larger size. Here it is in its reduced form:

Safari in Kettle Country

[And as I now find I still can't upload my offering to Illustration Friday, it won't be there at all. Stuff it]
